Protecting the Airport

David Willetts MP, Shadow Minister for Universities and Skills, came to Cambridge last Saturday and heard from Nick Hillman about how important Marshall's airport and other businesses on that site are to Cambridge, as well as the disastrous traffic implications that would result from cramming over ten thousand homes onto the site.

Thank you to Mr Willetts for taking the time out to talk to Cambridge Conservatives - it just goes to show how we really need someone like Nick to represent Cambridge in parliament and who will stand up for Cambridge's interests at the heart of a possible new government. Conservatives were the first to raise the alarm over Marshall, a decade ago, and we still say it should stay.

Another Boost to Coleridge Campaign

The Conservative campaign in Coleridge received another boost today with a visit from David Willetts MP. David is Shadow Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills, and has been the Member of Parliament for Havant since 1992. He came to support our campaigning in Cambridge, and we spent time speaking to residents on Lichfield Road.

We spoke to yet more people who are very fed up with Labour. It was difficult to pin down what exactly was causing the discontent - the dithering and weak leadership from Gordon Brown, the huge tax rises, mismanaged public services, more expensive mortgages or the rampant inflation in most key bills, or the fact that the Government continues to insist everything is fine. It will be interesting to see what happens on May 1st!
